Elzed Version 2.3.2 Introduces OptimizationAfter improving the evaluation chain in release 2.3.1, we turned our attention to the operators themselves to produce release 2.3.2. We've introduced an optimization phase to parsing that does a pretty good job of detecting cases in which operators can be simplified or even eliminated. For example, if an addition operator is passed two constants, the constant answer is substituted in the expression, thus eliminating the operator and speeding up evaluation. The results are, naturally, most noticable in interative calculations. The overall results are pretty good, and we'll be looking for more opportunities to optimize for the next release.
