This version was released on 20 November 2010.
Elzed 2.5.0 is a performance release, so there's very little evidence (on the surface, at least) that any work was done at all. In fact, however, a great deal has changed under the hood, with one of the results being a nominal 10% increase in performance. Since an improvement in that area was the stated goal of the release, I'm pretty happy about that.
No changes to the API are announced for 2.5.0, though we may take a few changes public in a point release during the next cycle. Speaking of which, 2.6.0 will be a features release. Look for an expansion of support for probs & stats functions, and support for operations on matrices.
Is there a feature you'd like to see in Elzed? Now's the time to speak up--click the Contact link at the top of this page and drop us a line.
Finally, Mac OS X users, please take note: this release is the last that will support the PowerPC architecture. The plans I have for the 2.7.x performance release (and beyond) require that I focus on a single architecture, much as the rest of the industry seems to have done already.
